Within Deutsche Bahn's high speed network development between Frankfurt and Koln Studio & Partners proposed an innovative new station design for the city of Limburg. The buildings intelligent section focuses on a service undercroft that provides access for cars and buses leaving the main platform level and external piazza for pedestrians. Waiting passengers are protected from adverse weather and the noise impact of trains travelling at over 200 km/hr by full height glass walls. The tapered roof form, made out of structural wooden beams softens the building impact and overall dimension within the surrounding rural landscape.
